Press Release:
Wrap around warm winter wines and fiery fireplaces and be prepared for this very different offering of Fokofpolisiekar. The initial idea was to record a relaxed, acoustic/ unplugged CD. The music is somewhat slower, though stronger with deep–rooted intent. If you listen closely, you can hear the acoustic guitars, but the identity of the music remains 100% Fokofpolisiekar.
Monoloog in Stereo is a 6 track EP that will sweep current Fokofpolisiekar followers further down the awareness-road of this Bellville gang. Hunter Kennedy's lyrics still comment on the middleclass environment in which a big part of SA's youth find themselves. For the first time Fokofpolisiekar has also included a "lovesong": – "Ek dink aan jou (as dit reën)"
The overall production of Monoloog in Stereo is radio-friendly. "Ek dink aan jou (as dit reën)" has the potential to become a radio-hit, not only appealing to their current fans, but also to their older brothers and sisters. On track 6: "Die seksuele revolusie" Francois van Coke sings: " Dis baie mooi as twee jong mense soen" This is the closest that the morality police will come to the sensor buzzer on this album.
