Johannesburg based and extremely sexy singer/songwriter Peter Hoven releases his debut solo album NO APOLOGIES this July.
NO APOLOGIES is a POP/ROCK album with an EDGY BLUES AFTERTASTE and can be enjoyed on the open road, when healing a broken heart or simply allows the listener to revel in Peter Hoven’s amazing melodies, vocals and musicianship.
The beauty of NO APOLOGIES is that it utilizes the tried and tested global winning formula but retains a distinct South African Flavor. And with South African Music currently making its mark internationally his timing couldn’t be better, as one thing is for sure: Peter Hoven is undoubtedly an international star in the making.
NO APOLOGIES was recorded at Radio Lava by Rikku Latti and mixed and mastered at Broken Rekordz where Tree 63 front man John Ellis has just completed his solo album. He is currently signed to Storm Rekordz, the brain child of SA legend Mel Botes. All 12 tracks are original songs written and produced by Peter Hoven
The first single off the album FIRE STILL BURNS is a driving Rock Song penned about a love lost that is still treasured and somehow still inspires. The music behind the strong lyrics creates a synergy of sound and words that is ironically positive. It reveals Hoven’s vocal and musical ability and is the ideal introduction to what the whole album has to offer.
Who is Peter Hoven?
Hoven is by no means new to the music circuit and is well respected amongst South African musicians. For years he has worked with a legion of legends, including the likes of RJ Benjamin, Piet Botha, Southern Gypsey Queen, Albert Frost, Delta Blue and many more. He has performed at Festivals like Oppikoppi, Splashy Fen, White Mountain Music Festival, The Durban International Blues Festival, STRAB, Aardklop, KKNK and Levis Vintage Sessions and continues to perform at top venues around the country.
While in the acoustic duo Clark and Van der Hoven with Delta Blue front man Gerald Clark they were tagged Best Band at Oppikoppi 2007. And although he has been content to work as a member of a band in the past, he has spent the last 3 years focusing all his attentions on his debut album NO APOLOGIES, meticulously filtering through his plethora of original songs and selecting from them 12 outstanding tracks to place on the album.
All in all NO APOLOGIES leaves the listener inspired and wanting more!
