Lloyd Jansen press release
The highly anticipated debut album release
by R&B powerhouse Lloyd Jansen, has finally arrived. Released through
Cape Town based label, Stereotype Records.
With his 1st single "Call Off The
Search," produced by Mr Mallum (Chad Saaiman, Danny K, Auriol Hays),
making his mark in the industry 2 years ago, Lloyd Jansen has repetitively
taken things to next level with singles such as "Turn it up"
which made it into the Top 10 on the Goodhope FM and Heart 104.9FM International
charts as well as the latest offering, "Crossroads."
The self-titled album, has proven that
Lloyd Jansen is a force to be reckoned with in the urban market, and
with so many artists crossing over and stepping into several genres
to stay true to the times, Jansen has stayed true to himself, and true
to what music was meant to do: Tell a story.
Songs like "Thinker," written
by Byron Clarke, and "Like there's only a few hours left"
penned by Chad Saaiman, who also executively produced the record, take
the listeners on a journey of emotional reflection through lyric and
melody. More conscious and political offerings such as "Some will
Fall" and "Crossroads" show a more serious and focused
side to the artist, who's ultimate goal is to make a difference with
his voice and his music.
One of the stand-out songs on the album
is the power ballad "Why," produced by The SHIFT and written
by Jansen 10 years ago, is a beautiful and moving work of art, musically
epitomising a real experience he had been through back then.
With gigs such as The Cape Town International
Jazz Festival Jansen, it seems that the sky is the limit for the R&B
Crooner. Often compared to singers such as Luther Vandross and Michael
Bolton, and having the style and poise of artists such as Michael Buble
and Seal, Lloyd Jansen remains grounded in his performances and has
often been described as the perfect gentleman. It's this exact authenticity
that will make him unstoppable and refreshing in the urban music market.
