Lukraaketaar has undisputedly made their mark on the South African music industry.
Their original, unique sound, interesting rhythms and bold honesty classifies Lukraaketaar as “passionately acoustic.” Due to a growing and loyal fanbase, especially on campuses nationwide, Lukraaketaar has decided to release a definitive collection of music and videos.
The album LUKRAAKETAAR has three new songs “Welsynhart”, “Tussen Murg en Been” and “Bitterwyn” as well as three videos added to the original album Fop Genade. Their hitsong “Om te kan” has been widely used as either an inspirational ringtone or pop powerdrive to start up a blue Monday morning.
The ten tracks have been remastered and Johnny de Ridder from Fokofpolisiekar has played the role of producer on all the new material. The rework/re-interpretation of the at times melancholy and old-school “Bitterwyn” is truly astonishing and inventive.
The fine line between angst and productive turmoil is a unique element that this duo possesses and the new material is proof of just that. The lyrics seem to be infectious yet bittersweet and the outstanding production (done at Soft Light City Studios, Cape Town) makes this album one for the taking. With definitive groundbreaking work in their genre the group doesn't disappoint and they are set to build on an already sound start to their careers. Truly inspiring, emotive and with some kick, they have also included a remarkable piece of artwork to add priceless value to this unique offering. Merwe Marchand (marchand.co.za) held the pen to this canvas and created a jewel case and art booklet second to none.
