Fran Czeska is a South African "bedroom" musician born and raised in the northern suburbs of Cape Town. Growing up in Durbanville and attending Bellville High, Fran was a musical child who took to playing piano and singing into a hairbrush at an early age. With a strong foundation in classical music by the age of 14, Fran's songwriting talents first surfaced in early high school when he co-wrote several cabaret-style songs with a friend, songs that were so cliche'd and cheesy that they will never see the light of day.
Fran's focus remained mainly on classical music as he attended music school where he learned to play the clarinet and in 1999 toured overseas with his high school orchestra. At age 17, Fran co-wrote and recorded two pop demo tracks with a friend at a local studio.
After high school, Fran studied sound engineering, creative writing, graphic design and web development. In late 2008, Fran decided to try his hand at writing and recording a few tracks with only a computer and microphone, and Synthesis is the result of that endeavour.
Synthesis is the first release from Fran Czeska. A 7 track digital EP, it's a fusion of dance, electro and synth pop with a strong 80's flavour that is hopefully only a taste of future things to come.
