"Songs Written Whilst Sitting", the debut album by The Shamonix, is a retro-punk/rock styled album created with the intention of not being taken seriously. If you have taken any of it seriously then you are a prat and you should stop reading now. If however you are a fun loving person who enjoys all the finer things in life like sex, fighting and taking the piss out of things that irritate you, and you like music influenced by bands ranging from the Pistols to Blink then you are onto a good thing with this album. It has a raw yet strangely catchy feel to it, though some if its lyrics and content will limit its radio play on nice little stations that would prefer Celine Dion and Michael Bolton. This is not an album to be played softly, especially while operating heavy machinery, but you will definitely find yourself identifying with some of the lyrics as you find yourself wanting to sing along.
